Instructional League: Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade

What to expect: This program focuses on learning the basics of softball (throwing, catching, batting and running bases) with a possibility for scrimmages towards the end of the season.

When: Instructional League will tentatively take  place on Thursdays from 5-6p.  The season runs from mid-April through mid-June.  

Where: Instructional League will tentatively take  place at Pageant Field. Alternatively, it will be at Michell McCoy.

Players will need a glove, face mask, and batting helmet. Sneakers or are cleats required.

American League: 3rd-5th Grade 

What to expect: Basics taught at this age with an emphasis on making friends, having fun and learning softball.  Coaches will pitch after 3 walks per inning.  Equipment needed includes glove, batting helmet, fielding mask, cleats.

When: Typically will be held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday morning with a  League-wide practice on Thursday evenings.  Additional practice at coaches discretion.  The season runs from mid-April through mid-June.  

National League: 6th-9th Grade

What to expect: A higher level of play is taught to this age group. But new players are encouraged to come out and learn the sport.  Equipment needed includes glove, batting helmet with cage, fielding mask, cleats.

Where: Games are played against other South Shore towns including Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate and Norwell.

When: There will be a total of 10-12 games played at 6pm on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday evenings. Practices will be held at coaches discretion.   The season runs from mid-April through mid-June.
